USF Cypress Hall

About this Project

Cypress Hall is a 300 bed student housing complex on the campus of the University of South Florida. The project consists of two 5 story buildings located at the corner of Maple Drive and Holly Drive.
The site had multiple existing trees that needed to be preserved and a unusually (for Florida) sloping site. The combination of the two required careful siting of the buildings, grading of sidewalks for ADA requirements as well as providing positive drainage away from the buildings. Retaining walls were utilized in some critical areas to preserve existing grade around the roots of large Live Oak trees.

Jake Zimmerman acted as Project Manager for the development of the construction documents for this project while working for a former employer.
